Check out some great items to get your dog this month

Ah, March is finally here. With its promise of sunshine and warmer days, fun holidays like St. Patrick’s Day and finally springing forward with Daylight Saving Time, it should be a great month ahead. After visiting some of Nashville best dog shops, here’s a list of some items you should buy your dog in March.

  1. AutoDogMug Dog Water Bottle

With the warmer weather arriving, you might want to grab your dog and go for a walk around the neighborhood or a hike at a nearby park. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes forget about the heat and the need for water for Ricky. This water bottle makes it so easy. Just fill it up, and then when your dog is thirsty, squeeze the bottle to fill the bowl up top. Then twist the lock in the center of the bowl for a leak-tight seal and set the bottle down. Boom, the water is ready for your dog to drink.

To save unused water for later, just untwist the lock for the water to go back into the bottle. You can even purchase a splash shield if your dog needs a bigger bowl, or a mini bottle for a little dog like Ricky. I have to say, the leak-tight seal is a great touch, keeping you and your bag nice and dry. It also comes with a carabiner which can attach to your belt or backpack.

Since we’re on the subject of warmer weather, I’m sure your dog is like Ricky and wants to go outside and play when the sun is out. You probably have some old, worn toys laying around, but why not buy something new like this plush football? It’s lightweight, you can throw it like a real football and your dog will love chasing after it.

3. Inception Fish Recipe Biscuit Training Dog Treats

Ricky loves a good treat, and these biscuits are great. There’s no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, which is always a good thing for your dog. Plus you can break them into smaller treats for little dogs like Ricky. I like the fish recipe since they have more omega 3s, but you can also purchase these in beef and pork as well.

St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. Why should you be the only one to celebrate? You might not give your dog a beer, but you can give him or her a delicious treat that they will savor. Plus they will love you for it!

6. Advantage II Flea Prevention & Treatment For Dogs

I know we all get busy, but having your dog get fleas is the worst. When I first got Ricky back in 2014, he was found covered in them. Poor thing, he was miserable and I spent hours cleaning, disinfecting and taking care of Ricky. It was awful, so why put up with that if you don’t have to? With spring coming, make sure you are fully stocked with flea prevention & treatment for your dog. All you need to do is place it on your dog each month and he or she will be safe. Take it from me, fleas are not fun.

Well, that’s my list for March. Let me know what you think of my picks or if you have any other suggestions. Just follow me on Instagram and Facebook and leave a comment there.

I hope you have a wonderful March. Enjoy the sun and warmer days ahead!
